Ok, this is our 1st class relay system.

If you have any problem with it, please tell me asap so I can make the changes before it takes effect.

Btw, if you don't even know the number of the person after you in the msg chain (after 2 years in 02), it is your responsibility to find it out.

In order for everyone in our class to get the new msg asap, I try to shorten the length of the chain but then mel has to send 4msgs every time. (However, I don't think we need to sent class msg very often.)

On the other hand, I put mel's no. at all ends also. This can let her know if the msg has been sent out to everyone in our class.

Basically, this system is only for the official class msgs but if you have something else (e.g. XX/XX/2008 is Ms SH's bd. Let's prepare to celebrate....) that you need to tell the class, you can also use this system and only thing you need to do is to send your msg to mel but yea, I am not sure if mel will pass your litter down...

Ok, ignore the last paragrah...

Hello people! Our blog has got to be the mouldiest around. Been about 2 months since the last post! CNY's already around the corner. =D

FINALLY, pictures of what we've been up to during orientation which was erm, great. So basically this was the dance party day with us celebrating Shiqi's and Hung's birthdays, just like Stalia days!

Well what do you know, 2 years have passed! :D
2 years since we first met, 2 years since we first did the Ohtwo Scream, 2 years since we started donning our ~~ElephantDustbunnyBoringCommunistlike~~grey uniforms(:
And yes, we've successfully conquered our IP1 and 2 years and are now left with our IP3 and 4 years!

The past 2 years with every single one of you have been beyond great for me, and I'd like to say that I'll really miss all of you next year when we start having seperate lessons because of the difference in combinations ):
However, it's all good. After all, we'll still stand together as one class during our morning assemblies, we'll still go for our GC/Homeroom/CAAL classes together, we'll still sit together during our random house sessions and feedback sessions, and most importantly,
we are still ONE 06IP02 in our hearts<3

Anyway, enough of my blahblahtalk.

If you've lost/misplaced/never gotten/accidentally thrown away your Aesthetics development form, here are the details. An update on the previous post: there is no parent's consent form attached or anything like that, you just need to sign your Edusave form or get a check.

Enrichment Modules For Aesthetics Development - IP2 Students
In line with the College's focus on holistic education, it is necessary for our students to develop aesthetically and discover, explore and hone their creative talents.

To do so, we have arranged a composite enrichment module that will enhance their aesthetic development. These modules will commence after the IP Assessment Week and will take place on various days till 7 Nov 2007. A detailed schedule will be sent out at a later date. Special considerations will be made for students taking the HMT 'O' Level examinations.

As this module has been specially selected to provide students with the necessary effective communication, oral presentation, innovation and enterprise skills which will be of valuable use in the future, we expect all our students to participate in this programme.

Details of the enrichment module for aesthetics development:

Areas covered: 3 main areas (E-Broadcast; E-Radio; E-Music)
No. of hours: 3 x 8 hours = 24 hours (spread over 3 weeks after Assessment
Week)
Cost: $170.00 net (Actual cost is $220; NJC will subsidise $50.00
per student)

You may pay by cheque addressed to "National Junior College" by 17 September 2007 (Mon) through your child.

BY MONDAY:

Get your parents/guardian(s) to sign your Aesthetics Development form together + the Edusave form/check, depending on whether you've enough in your Edusave account. This is extremely important and you must not forget this.
Bring $14 for the Annual Yearbook Vol. 38 (Year 2007). If you're interested in getting a copy, but haven't signed the form yet, just bring the money on Monday, no worries.
Bring $5 or $10 for C'est La Vie, depending on which kind of ticket you're going to buy.

That should be about it.

Week 8: HMT 'O's on Wednesday
Week 9: Zile, Shiqi, Jolene, Chuyun at OBS

So as you can see, we really don't have much choice. Besides, we don't really have to study for Chinese/Tamil right?
Please do try to convince your parents! Afterall, from 24 Oct onwards, you'd still have ONE WEEK to mug for your HMT 'O's! Keep in mind, the more people go, the cheaper the chalet would cost for each of us! So GO GO GO!

On Friday next week (21 September 2007) I will ask who is going (all 3 days? 2 days? 1 day?), who is staying over (1 night? 2 nights?), and who isn't going so that I can start organising the stuffs. This is the Council's advertistment:

C'est La Vie, French for "that's life" aims to bring to everyone the life that everyone wants to enjoy. Immediately after the promos, it is a party that will rejunenate your drained spirits and show you that life's not just about mugging and promos... that life in itself is a party!

The main attraction of the celebration will be the rock concert-cum-dance floor with a professional DJ, club lighting, performers from around Singapore, etc. (will be referred to as the "party" henceforth). As such, the ticket for this party will be priced at $5. Along with that, there will be stalls set up during the Celebration such as food booths in the food arena, a rooftop cafe called "Cafe de la Crest", an X-box arcade, a bar and much more. Items from these stores can be bought using Year End Credits, henceforth known as "credits".

The tickets to the celebrations are currently being sold in 2 forms:

1) Invitation to the party only ($5)
2) The package: Party invitation + 10 credits ($10)

You are advised to buy the package since each credit in the package will be purchased at $0.50 only. For those who buy tickets only, on the day of the celebration, if they wish to purchase any item from any of the stores above, they will have to purchase credits from the "Credits Booth"at a higher price of $0.70.

Once again, important terms you might want to remember:

For the celebrations,
1) Celebration = Party + Attractions
2) Party = Dance floor + Concert
3) Attractions = Rooftop cafe + Bar + Food arena + X-box arcade, etc.

For the ticketing system,

Hey guys!

I've received some information about CIP Day this year, and we have to collaborate with 01 in order to carry out our duties this year. This year, we're going to carry out an event for 48 senior citizens in the Sanctuary, and it's supposed to be a karaoke singing/group sing-along activity, and there also has to be a Pass the Parcel game in it somewhere.

We have to submit a proposal by this Friday, 13 July, 8am. Preferably, this gets done by Thursday, then.

Here are the details:

Activities
- Karaoke
- Mass sing-along session
- Pass the Parcel game
- Distribution of goodies/small gifts (at own cost)

What we need to do
- Select comperes to enliven whole event/ explain the proceedings to the guests preferably in the different languages.
- Source karoke VCDs in English, Mandarin, Malay, dialects, etc.
- Select Disc Jockeys to play the songs requested quickly
- Prepare song list for old folks
- Assemble song list for old folk
- Assemble Singing Team in lead in Karaoke
- Assemble Mass Sing-along Team to lead in group singing
- Prepare small gifts/ goodies and prizes for games at own cost
- Plan and conduct the Pass the Parcel game

Roles & Responsibilities
Comperes:
- Draft compere script
- Host the event in the Sanctuary (preferably in different local languages)
- Further information will be deseminated soon, not to worry.

Karaoke Team:
- Source for songs (VCDs/DVDs) for the karaoke
- Plan/compile the song list for the songs to be played. Songs must be in both English & Mandarin, songs in dialects are optional
- Facilitate the karaoke singing by leading in the singing if needed

Sing-along Team:
- Facilitate group community songs singing
- Songs, lyrics and CDs will be provided by the RHD community
- Teams to prepare powerpoint slides with lyrics

Pass the Parcel team:
- To prepare and conduct the Pass the Parcel game
- A prize can be awarded to the person holding the parcel when the music stops
- Gifts and prizes should be appropriate for the person receiving the item. For senior citizens, you may consider items like biscuits, cereal drinks, etc.
- Gifts/prizes should NOT be used or old , unwanted items. Do not use this as an opportunity to get rid of old stuff.
- Gifts/prizes should not be racially/religiously sensitive or unsafe items
- They will be bought on our own cost, and the rough guide to the cost per prize/gift should not be more than $2. It's the thought that counts.

Screening of 1 In-house Multimedia Presentation:
- To screen the multimedia presentation of 1 House using the CD to be provided by the RHD Committee.

That's it. I need people to volunteer for any of these groups. Please, please try to take the initiative and step up to the plate. It will be much appreciated. :)

From the last I've heard, four people are going for the class outing. And from what I know, four people definitely do not make up a class, as big as that number is.

I know everyone is busy. I know we have a lot of work to do, especially since the term is coming to a close. But you would think that if everyone loved this class enough (or the movie, at least?), people would put aside some time to go down to the Cathay.

Just a few reminders for today, I know I'm naggy.

1) Bring your PE shirts for the health check-up tomorrow! As for the venue and timing, it'll be at the NJC Family Centre containers at 2.55pm. Be punctual, please! :)

2) Please confirm with me whether you're going for the class outing on Monday tomorrow, because tickets for the movie (Spider-Man 3!) need to be booked, one way or another. I strongly encourage everyone to go, we haven't had some good class bonding for ages. Besides, I'm rather sure it'll be quite fun.

3) For College Day this Saturday, please turn up in full grey with your tie. It's compulsory for everyone, except for those that are performing that day, or have a legitimate reason to leave for CCA. If you're one of those people who cannot remember where you last put your tie, don't worry, I share your sentiments. :) Remember to tap your card, and I'll be taking attendance that day so please, if you're somewhere, tell me!

the seminar presentations are round the corner! yeah i know you guys might be quite tired and all with syfs just past, and nationals round the corner, but still, just do it properly kae? cause afterall, it's gonna be 20% of your modular credits. so if you do it properly, it's going to benefit you.

Hi 02!
I dunno whether we are playing D&B tomorrow or not but i wish to congratulate everyone for putting their hearts and their minds, and obviously their feet :) for our class Dog&Bone competition. And we all know that we want to go further in this competition, to win the champion title, to be proud to say to others that: "Look, we are smart and fast dogs!" (oh, sorry :D )
Remember our strategies that we have practiced in the Hall last few sessions, about how to defend, put your bloody hands on top of the opponents, play cover, ... things like that.
For the even team we are having a slightly easier game in the sense that we are against the weaker part of 06ip06 and we have some who can lift up the game: Yile with invisible speed, Captain Eugene with good "flying" and "distracting" technique, Jonas with a strong bowling hand and large momentum (no link :D) and me with a joker face :D. On the other hand, the odd team might find it harder because they have only two guys. However, don't worry. Quantity does not matter, quality does. Zile we all know that he is very strong, fast, good reaction... plus power from someone else from even team, he would definitely play a good game. Hung is a scholar so he will have a good vision of the game. We must play a game of thinking, and by the way Hung has improved 7minutes for 2.4 in one year which no one else can do. Besides we have crowd of girls to cheer for us. So that won't be a problem.
"Trust me, we will win. Or at least if we do not win, we will a tough opponent and a good loser!"

here's your house affiliate! i'm sorry that i am extremely naggy but it is extremely important and we have to do a good job to keep up the standard of TERRA!

Try to collect as many can tabs as you can okay. Everyone should have collected at least 5 can tabs by next monday. I know some of you dont drink can drinks at all (like me!) . But just try to drink for this few days please! :D

Another alternative is to go to some coffee shop or foodcourt and collect the can tabs that are left on the tables after people finish their meal. It's quite weird but effective.

Anyway, i want the 5tabs per person on monday okay. I dont care what method you use so long as we get as many can tabs as we can.

Hey 02!

Good job for the Dog and Bone competition against 07IP01 on Tuesday (This is a little late, I know, sorry)! It was a close fight, but we did manage to pull through in the end, winning 8-5. While I know we're all glad we won, please don't get complacent, we still have a long way to go. As long as we work together, remember our numbers, our tactics, and react fast, we should do great. It is only a game, after all :)

07IP01, if any of you happen to read this, it was a good game. Try harder next time!

Oh yes, I realise most people have some trouble getting access to the blog... to blog. So for everyone's convenience, here are the instructions again.

1. When you get to the Blogger page, click on the button that allows you to log in with the new account format, not the old. If you use the old, you're likely to be told that you can't sign in using the old username and password. Either that, or you get told that you have to sign in with my email. Which is... wrong.

2. Type in the email address and the password. The email address is njc06ip02@gmail.com. Type it in correctly! I realise that most people leave out the 'njc' part most of the time. The password is the same as the one used for the old account, for convenience's sake. If you forgot, or don't know it, please ask me, or anyone else that has been able to get access to the blog so far. Voila, if you go through all these steps correctly, you're in.

There you go. It's as simple as that. If you're still not sure about anything, feel free to ask me. I'd be glad to help!

I know that these few weeks or months, even, will be highly stressful ones due to the various CCA groups going for SYF and Nationals, perhaps even some other competitions. Hang in there, it'll be over before you know it. Eat well, drink a sufficient amount of water, sleep well, take care of yourself, and remember to do your homework as well (haha). Hey 02!

If you're still a little unclear as to what you're supposed to do for the Giro Option form, here are the instructions:

1. Get your parents (or whoever is the bank account holder) to sign in the box at the bottom right hand corner of the letter, and indicate whether they wish to pay the exam fees through Giro. If they do not wish to do so, they will have to pay in cash some time in April '07.

2. For scholars and those under the MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (ie. those whose exams fees are paid for by the government), you do not have to sign the Giro Option form. However, please write down the word "SCHOLAR" or "FAS" at the top right hand corner of the form, and return it back to me. Mr. Tan will know what to do.

3. Hand the forms back to me by tomorrow (20/3)!

I have an urgent notice with regards to a “CHAOTIC” competition, called CHAOS 2007 http://www.gebsp.moe.gov.sg/CHAOS/Chaos2007.htm (READ BELOW), and I will need your assistance to spread this to all the 06 IP classes, just realise that many of you do not go online to check Km portal (but have time to read blogs though.. )

I have posted this news in the KM, under student centre news section as well. This will be a good wk to work on the competition. The date to submit the answers is 10th April 2007 actually, but we will be collecting all answers by 4th April, for us to check and vet through. If possible you can help to spread via words of mouth, or put it in your class blog (if its not dead… I hope… ) Last year we came in third. First Was Ri, Second was VJC (IP). Let’s see if we can come in First this year.

Those of you who are interested to take up this CHAOS sci challenge pls visit the official website for more information. It is a very interesting and fun competition to take part. Hey 02!

I know, Blogger has been rather irritating and bugging everyone to join its Blogger-Google accounts, and because of this, many people haven't been able to log in. I've created a class email account: njc06ip02@gmail.com (the password's the same as the old Blogger account password, if you can't remember it, ask), and using that, you can get in and post.

Dear 06IP02,

It's always hard to say goodbye. Nonetheless, I think it is the appropriate time for me to say it. I will not be in school next year. I hate to depart in this way, but I guess all good things must come to an end.

Thank you 06IP02 for everything. I can¡¯t emphasise enough how much I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to come to this class and know everyone of you. Each one of you is unique with its own talents and I've learnt a lot from all of you. And somehow inspired me to continue my keyboard and guitar lessons which I have stopped halfway. Hopefully I will be able to pick up where I left off. I've been trying very hard to brush up my skills.

I have a hunch we will see one another again, it's just a matter of where and when. I am truly grateful for all of these experiences and I walk away from this a richer person.

Keep that 06IP02's spirit up and let's work hard towards our dreams.
